Public power day is approaching in Front Royal

The Town of Front Royal invites you to come join in celebrating the Front Royal Energy Services on Public Power Day, October 5th.

The Front Royal Energy Services and more than 2000 other utility companies across the county are not for profit and public owned.

This year Front Royal Energy Service is celebrating 129 years of community service.

The public is invited to find out more about the benefits of living in a safe, reliable, and affordable electric community.

This family friendly event will happen from 5 to 8 pm at the Gazebo on Main Street.

Activities include:

  • Electric safety demonstrations
  • Touch-a-truck opportunities
  • Free swag and kid zone
  • Free tree giveaways from the Environmental Sustainability Advisory Committee and Tree Stewards and more!

Front Royal and SNP set up checks on leaf changes in the valley

The town of Front Royal is getting ready for the the changing to the fall colors.

In fact the town has set up a camera for you to view specifically the leaves of downtown as they change.

The camera is set up in the Gazebo area and is focused on the trees of downtown with more information on not just leaf changes but sky watching as well.

Of course leaves are changing everywhere in the valley there is a check of the leaves of the Shenandoah National Park (SNP) found by clicking here.

News Maker Cindy Abramo on Thur.’s free show

Thursday nights throughout the summer free concerts will be presented at the Gazebo in Front Royal.

One of these shows is this Thur. Jun. 24 with the For the Love of Linda band.

This band of local musicians cover Linda Ronstadt and bring awareness to Parkinson’s Disease and encourage you to help at Parkinson.org.

We spoke to lead vocalist Cindy Abramo about this Thurs. free show.

Cindy tells us about the band and other bands she is involved with and other tidbits.

Renovations to the Front Royal Pavilion are complete

Renovations to the Pavilion area are now complete in downtown Front Royal.

The ribbon cutting ceremony took place near the gazebo at Main and Chester Streets on Fri. Apr. 9 at 11:30 a.m..

The town received a grant from the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development in September 2018 which helped fund the renovations.

The pavilion area now has new restrooms and free wifi for the downtown area.
