Winchester Re-Store opens in new location
The Blue Ridge Habitat for Humanity’s Re-Store in Winchester will have a ribbon cutting and grand reopening ceremony at their new location on Thursday, August 31st.
Join them at 443 Millwood Avenue in Winchester at 11:30 am for the ceremony and to explore the new space.
Expanded store hours will begin September 1st.

News Maker Shannon Roman on a free concert
Front Royal Warren County Habitat for Humanity will host a day long concert show June 4.
The free concert is to bring awareness to Habitat for Humanity and the services they offer.
The activities begin at 11 a.m. at the Front Royal Gazebo.
We spoke with the Chairperson for Habitat for Human’s Faith Relations Community Pastor Shannon Roman in our latest news maker.

She also tells us that there is plenty of room for vendors to get involved and have some exposure in downtown Front Royal.

The first volunteer fair is scheduled for Sat. 5/14
Congregational Community Action Project (C-Cap) and the Wednesday Group are hosting the first Warren County Volunteer Fair on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m..
The fair was announced at the Front Royal Chamber of Commerce website to be held at Samuel’s Public Library.
Nonprofits that will be there include Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army, Warren Coalition and more.
Any nonprofits interested in participating in the fair should contact Samuel’s Public Library in Front Royal.

Front Royal’s Christmas Fest and Parade
Front Royal’s Christmas Fest and 72nd Annual Parade gets started at noon today at the Gazebo.
The parade will follow shortly, kicking off at 4 pm.
Start off your day at the pancake breakfast at WCHS then head on downtown.
Live Christmas music at the Gazebo will play from noon to 1:30 pm.
Other events starting at noon include: Habitat for Humanities silent auction at the Virginia Beer Museum, the Winter Bazaar at Love Revival Ministry, and the winter festival at Able Forces.
Royal Cinemas will have a free classic Christmas movie showing at 1 pm before you head over to the parade.

Blue Ridge Habitat for Humanity breaks ground on affordable housing
In a Blue Ridge Habitat for Humanity social media post ground was broken yesterday on the Norris Village Phase 2 project.
This project includes the building of five new affordable homes at 405 West Ln. in Winchester.
The homes will be available as affordable housing for low income families.
These homes are available to families that are in Habitat’s Home Ownership Program.

Warren County and Hazard Mill Farm team up for a haunted walk
Warren County Habitat for Humanity is partnering with Hazard Mill Farms of Bentonville for a haunting at Hazard Mill walk.
From 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 21-23 and again the 28-30 of Oct. 6 to 7 p.m. will be a toned down kid version from 7 to 9 the scare factor intensifies.
Hazard Mill Farm is located at 1481 Hazard Mill Rd. Bentonville with live music and a trunk or treat event set for Sat. Oct. 30.
The Habitat for Humanity press release states that tickets are $10 pre person with children under 10 $5 with volunteers needed for the event.

WCHFH names Executive Director
Warren County Habitat for Humanity announced they have a new Executive Director in Andrea Ross.
She is taking over for Jessica Priest-Cahill.
Priest-Cahill is moving over to a volunteer role as the chair of Resource Development Board.
WCHFH selected Ross for her experience in home maintenance and management.
She is also active in her community, especially with Warren-Page’s NAACP group.
She strongly identifies with Habitat’s motto of people needing “a hand up, not a hand out.”
