If you are heading out to celebrate Halloween, remember to plan ahead for a safe and sober ride home.

Buzzed driving is drunk driving.

Front Royal issues Trick or Treating safety reminders

The Town of Front Royal issued a notice regarding the observation of Halloween Trick or Treating.

The Town will observe Trick or Treating on Halloween, Tuesday October 31st beginning at 6:30 pm and ending at 9 pm.

Parents are encouraged to accompany their children during the festivities and to increase visibility by carrying flashlights or wearing reflective clothing.

Trick or Treaters should only approach houses with their porch lights on and be off the streets by 9 pm.

Motorists are advised to use caution and visibility may be limited due to early forecasts calling for precipitation.

The notice also points out that the Spooky Saturday celebration planned for October 28th is a separate event and does not replace Halloween.

Front Royal’s Hometown Halloween returns in 2021

Front Royal’s Hometown Halloween will return Sunday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m..

According to a town news flash Mayor Chris Holloway wanted to bring back the celebration as a signature event for the town.

After the many closures and cancellations last year the mayor hopes to encourage families to enjoy the season and support local business.

During the event Main St. from N. Royal to Blue Ridge Ave. will be closed.

Chester St. from Main St. to Laura Virginia Hale Ave. will also be closed.

The family friendly event features Pumpkin Carving at noon hosted by C and C Frozen Treats.

A costume parade is scheduled at 4 and trick or treating along Main St. begins at 6.

Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee

WCDSS and the Warren County Parks and Rec are hosting the first annual Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee this year.

It will be held at the Warren County Health and Human Services Complex at 465 west 15th street in the track.

They will have balloon animals, candy, cake walk, games, as well as a photo booth.

In the event of rain they will move the activities inside the gymnasium.
