Crash kills Harrisonburg teen

Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash in Rockingham County.

The accident occurred on Tuesday at 8:42 pm off Buffalo Drive about a mile from Old Furnace Road.

A 2010 Hyundai Elantra was on Buffalo Drive when it slowed to make a left turn into a private drive.

The 2022 Subaru BRZ that was behind the Hyundai, failed to slow and crossed into the left lane when it collided with the Hyundai.

The impact caused the Subaru to run off the road and strike a tree.

The driver of the Subaru, a 17-year-old teen from Harrisonburg, Virginia died at the scene of the crash.

He was wearing his seat belt.

The driver of Hyundai and his passenger were uninjured.

The crash remains under investigation.
