Linden man arrested on child porn charges

Warren County Sheriff’s authorities arrested s 42-year-old Linden man Tuesday and charged him with possessing child pornography.

Steven M. Kay faces three counts of possession, reproduction, distribution, solicitation, and facilitation of child pornography.

The sheriff’s office received an online cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), according to the release. The tipster referred to an online account sharing elicit material involving pubescent and pre-pubescent minors.

While investigators worked on the case, additional tips were received regarding the same account and content on February 19. Investigators identified the perpetrator as Kay, the office said.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Team executed a search warrant in the 300 block of Long View Road, Linden, on Feb. 22. Kay was taken into custody at that address, according to the release. He was transported to the Rappahannock Shenandoah Warren (RSW) Regional Jail without incident.

After Kay’s arrest, he appeared before a magistrate and was ordered to jail without the possibility of bond. The court date for the listed offenses has been set for 10 a.m. March 14 in Warren County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

FRPD arrests Natural Bridge man for solicitation of minors

Front Royal Police detectives report the conclusion of  an investigation that began March 21st regarding the solicitation of minors in the Front Royal area.

An adult male suspect sent sexually explicit material to a detective who was posing as a female under the age of 15.

The initial conversation was unsolicited and started by the offender.

Through the investigation, detectives identified the man as Douglas Hatcher, 49, of Natural Bridge.

Rockbridge County Sheriff’s assisted in the arrest at Hatcher’s home on April 7th for five charges of using communication systems to facilitate certain offenses involving children.

He is being held without bond at Rockbridge Regional Jail.

His court date is April 20,2023 at 9 am in Warren County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

This arrest was apart of FRPDs efforts in the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force coordinated by the Virginia State Police.

Bristol man arrested for soliciting local minors

Detectives from the Front Royal Police Department began an investigation regarding the solicitation of minors in the area on January 14, 2023.

An undercover operation ensued where an adult male began soliciting a detective who he believed was a 15 year old female for photographs and sexually explicit material.

The suspect was identified as 29 year old Michael T. Houchins II of Bristol, VA.

He was arrested at his home by the Bristol Virginia Police Department on February 9th for the use of communications systems to facilitate certain offenses involving children.

Houchins was transported to Southwest Regional Jail where he is being held without bond.

His court date is set for March 2nd, 2023 at 9:00 am in the Warren County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

FRPD is an active member in the Northern Virginia/DC Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force which is coordinated by the Virginia State Police.

FRPD makes arrest for solicitation of minors

The Front Royal Police Department conducted an investigation as a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force regarding the solicitation of minors in the area.

Officers concluded the investigation with the arrest of Sean Kreinsen, 28, of Smithfield.

An undercover operation began after Kreinsen contacted an officer posing as a female under 15 years old unsolicited and sent sexually explicit material.

Kreinsen was arrested by the Isle of Wight Sheriff’s Office and then transported to Western Tidewater Regional Jail where he is held without bond.

His court date is set for October 13th at the Warren County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
