Shenandoah Valley students shine at VA FFA Convention

FFA students from across the Shenandoah Valley shined at the 98th Virginia FFA State Convention held at Virginia Tech this week.

Signal Knob Middle School took home one of the top honors as they were named the 2024 Superior Junior Chapter of Virginia for the second year in a row this morning.

Signal Knob’s Emmalee Hamrick individually placed 2nd in the state for the Creed Speaking Contest and will represent Virginia FFA at the National FFA Conference in Massachusetts this October.

At the high school level, two Frederick County Students and a Rappahannock High School student were selected as State Officers for the 2024-2025 school year.

Keller Cooley of Sherando High School will serve as Vice President, Brealyn Durbin of James Wood High School was chosen as the Treasurer, and Rappahannock’s Ryan Livesay will be the Sentinel.
