VDOT recommends caution as road conditions vary

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) continues to treat roads as snow continues to fall and is likely to do so through this morning Tuesday January 16.

The winter weather advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. Tuesday January 16 with additional snow likely Friday January 19 as well.

Refreezing has occurred in the over night as temperatures have risen much above or remained below freezing.

A number of schools and offices have rearranged their schedule for today January 16 which are listed here.

If you have to travel do so cautiously plan ahead as road conditions will vary.

Add additional time to reach your destination call before you leave to ensure they are open.
