News Maker Lisa Wilt on Red Cross blood shortage

The American Red Cross has reported a crisis in blood supplies over the last few months.

We are pleased to report that thanks to your donations the crisis has been moved to a Vulnerable Supply of blood.

This means that blood donations are still needed but we are not at crisis level at this time.

We spoke with American Red Cross Donor Recruiter Lisa Wilt about the situation in our latest news maker.

The good news is brought to you by The Town of Front Royal.

Lisa talks of the good news with the new status.

She also tells us the recruiting effort continues for both staff and donors.

Lisa talks of future donation opportunities and how easy it is to make that appointment.

She also tells us that if you have made an appointment but unable to actually follow through with the donation you should let Red Cross know so they can fill that vacancy.

To make that appointment use your zip code at redcrossblood.org.
