Front Royal Little League will host the 2026 Virginia State Little League 10U tournament this summer.

The selection was determined using a rotating schedule established by Virginia Little League leadership and implemented before the 2015 season.

Front Royal Little League will serve as the host for the 16-team tournament July 16-22, 2026.

To compete in the State Tournament, the organization must first win their District Tournament and those will take place throughout the Commonwealth in early-mid June.

Front Royal Little League has been dominant in recent years and sent five different teams to the State Tournament last year including the 12U team which won the State Title and advanced to the Southeast Regional Tournament in Warner Robins, Georgia.

The 12U FRLL championship team previously won the 10U District Tournament and the 10U tournament provide a glimpse at the future of teams who will be fighting for a trip to Williamsburg in the coming years.

Hosting the tournament will not only provide excitement for the community and recognition for youth athletes, Front Royal and surrounding areas will see significant financial impacts due to traveling teams and fans staying in hotels, dining, and enjoying other activities in town.

Fox Sports Radio 1450 is your home for Front Royal Little League baseball and coverage will resume in the spring.

Sports Dogs Podcast: Welcome Home, Maroon!

In this edition, the Duke puts a bow on the Front Royal Little Leaguers’ incredible run through the Southeast Region Tournament in Georgia as seen through the eyes of the coaching staff. Enjoy the “look-back” with the Sports Dogs!

Front Royal wins State Championship, advances to Region

Front Royal Little League’s 12U team claimed the State Tournament on July 23 in Bowling Green, Virginia and will advance to the Southeast Region in Warner Robins, Georgia.

The squad led by coaches Jesse Henry, Shane Wines, Joe Cook, and  went undefeated through Pool Play on their way to a Pool D Championship and outsourcing their opponents 34-0.

Competition stiffened up in the single elimination tournament with Front Royal knocking off talented squads from York County, Atlee, and SYA.

The championship game came down to the final out with Front Royal holding on to win 6-5 in front of a Monsoon of Maroon fans who came down from Front Royal.

The 12U team was just one of many FRLL teams in both baseball and softball that secured District Championships, but the only team to win the state title locally.

This is the first time Front Royal Little League has claimed a state championship since 1961.

The first game of the Southeast Tournament will be played on Thursday at 7pm and you can hear it all on Fox Sports Radio 1450, theriver953.com and The River 95.3 app thanks to Hike Kidz Foundation, courtesy of Brickhouse Bar and Grill.

The two fundraisers held were extremely successful July 27 at the Front Royal Moose Lodge and Brickhouse Bar and Grill.

The team is grateful for the support but continued contributions will help greatly with transportation, accommodations. and meals for the enter team in Georgia.
