News Maker Tammy Stevenson on a new exhibit at SVDM

The Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum (SVDM) debuts a brand new hands on exhibit today Sept. 13.

We spoke with the Director of Development for the Museum Tammy Stevenson in our latest news maker.

Tammy tells us that this new exhibit features hands on experiences for people in the trades industries.

She also tells us the official ribbon cutting and grand opening is tomorrow Sept. 15 with a soft opening today Sept. 14.

WCSO offer a youth football camp

Warren County Sheriff's Office

A press release from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) announced a youth football camp.

This is the second time youth football has been offered by the WCSO.

The camp will take place Apr. 2 with registration due by Mar. 15.

The drills and skill lessons will be conducted by Shenandoah University coaches, college players as well as NFL players.

Scouts will be on hand for youth players for possible recruitment for scholarships.

Commemorative items such as T-Shirts and autographs will be offered to remember the experience.

Lunch and refreshments will be served as well.

Crafting Classes

Crafting Classes are available at the Lions Shelter in Chet Hobart park and is open for ages 7 and up. September 22nd the project will be bird houses the fee is 15 dollars per class as well as a 5 dollar supply fee. Contact Clarke County parks and rec at 540-955-5140 or ccpr@clarkecounty.gov.
