Clarke County’s Long Branch Historic Farm suffers a devastating loss

On the evening of June 18 firefighters from across the region responded to a fire at Long Branch Farm in Boyce Virginia.

One horse perished in the fire, but all the others were taken to safety.

The stable was a total loss with all feed, tack and supplies destroyed.

The historic home barn and grounds are a landmark in Boyce.

The facility is known for housing retired horses, offering educational opportunities, and also works toward historic, and environmental preservation.

The Clarke County community is rallying around the owners of Long Branch offering support.

A go fund me account has been set up by Long Branch Historic House and Farm to benefit and support the woman who lost her horse and equipment in the fire here.

The cause of the June 18 fire and estimation of loss remains under investigation with a report expected in the coming days.
