Services are set for slain Police Officer Winum

The State of Virginia continues to mourn the loss of Stanley Police Officer Dominic Winum.

Condolences and gifts have flooded the Stanley Police Department and community from Virginia Officials as well as the public at large.

A community prayer vigil is set for Tue. Mar. 2 at 7 p.m. at the Luray Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) building.

The Officer’s viewing is set for Wed. Mar. 3 at Bethlehem Independent Christian Church in Stanley from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The funeral service will be held at Bulldog Field in Luray on Thurs. Mar. 4 at 2 p.m..

A go fund me page has been set up to assist the family with funeral expenses.

VH Health Fair goes virtual

For over 25 years Valley Health (VH) Shenandoah University (SU) with scores of healthcare professionals have held a health fair at Apple Blossom Mall the last Saturday of February.

Due to COVID-19 this year’s Health Fair will be a week long virtual event Mar. 20 through Mar. 27.

A full schedule of online health and fitness programs will offered from Luray to Martinsburg and Romney West Virginia for adults and children.
