Martinsburg Authorities apprehend a shooting suspect

Martinsburg Police and Berkeley County Sheriff’s Deputies announced the arrest of two suspects in a shooting incident.

The shooting took place Feb. 17 shots were fired but no one was hit.

Thorough the investigation Travis Nash and Christian Callahan were identified as the shooters.

A warrant for attempted murder in the 1st degree and conspiracy to commit attempted murder in the first degree was filed.

Fortunately, no one was actually injured in the February incident, but shots had clearly been fired toward a victim.

Nash was apprehended in Frederick Maryland by police in Sept. 29 and has been extradited to Martinsburg and is currently in custody.

Authorities were notified that Callahan was at a Winchester Avenue location in Martinsburg.

U. S. Marshals and county and town Authorities executed a search warrant at that residence and were able to take Callahan into custody without incident.

The time of the arrest was approximately 12:30 p.m. the nearby Elementary School on Winchester Avenue was placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure but the incident ended peacefully.

Both Callahan and Nash await further court actions.

Martinsburg Police arrest a B&E suspect

The Martinsburg Police Department announced the arrest of a suspect in multiple breaking and entering incidents.

Video surveillance from several robberies show someone matching 44 year old Shawn Nicely’s description inside the businesses after hours.

When Nicely was confronted by officers he attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended and found to be in the possession of a pry bar, screwdriver and a large amount of cash.

Nicely is also wanted in Frederick County Virginia for failure to appear in court on felony shoplifting charges.
