REC recognized for internship opportunities

Rappahannock Electric Cooperative was recently recognized as a top employer for interns by the Virginia Talent + Opportunity Partnership.

The award recognizes employers in the Commonwealth who provide high-quality internships to participants through:

  • exposure to senior leaders
  • structured mentorship programs
  • paid time off
  • housing allowances
  • security clearances
  • training for industry certifications

Over the past three years, REC has welcomed 17 interns to a variety of supporting departments.

Current Communications and Public Relations Department intern Mary Kate Bowers said, “I’ve held two internship positions at REC which have provided me with invaluable opportunities to learn and grow. I’ve had the chance to work autonomously on various projects which has allowed me to take ownership of my work and sharpen my skills. This experience has been instrumental in my professional development, equipping me with the tools and knowledge I need to excel in my future career.”
