Apple Blossom welcomes decorated women’s basketball coach

The Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival announced Brenda Frese, head coach of the University of Maryland’s women’s basketball team, as a sports guest for this year’s events.

Frese has led the Terrapins to countless accolades during her 22 seasons leading the bench.

She guided the team to the 2006 National Championship in addition to nineteen 20-win seasons, seven 30-win seasons, and nineteen NCAA tournament berths.

In 2022, she won her 500th game at the University, making her the winningest coach in school history.

Her career winning percentage of 77.1% is the 10th highest among all Division-I women’s coaches.

Frese builds her team around recruiting, hard work, and a positive atmosphere and her coaching style has attracted 23 McDonald’s All-Americans and sent eighteen players to the WNBA.

Frese will speak at the Sports Breakfast and ride in the Grand Feature parade.

Tickets for the sports breakfast are available here.
