The Town of Strasburg announced a change of speed limit for the eastern corporate limits of the town.

The change was made following a speed limit study conducted by the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Portions of East King street and Front Royal Road from Lemley Street east to Jackson Street will now see the speed limit reduced from 35 mph to 25 mph.

This adjustment was made with the primary goal of enhancing safety for all drivers and pedestrians with consideration to traffic flow, road conditions, and residential activity.

New signs will be posted in the area by VDOT and the changes will go into effect next week, likely by Friday, March 29th.
