CCHA hosts 10th Annual Heritage Day

The Clarke County Historical Association is hosting their 10th Annual Heritage Day today from 11 am to 4 pm at the Burwell Morgan Mill in Millwood.

There will be live demonstrations of colonial era people working and their daily lives.

Some of those demos will include blacksmithing, cider pressing, wood turning, weaving and more.

Then come back at 7pm for the Legends by Lantern Light.

This tour will have a different angle on the history of the area from the earlier session and will have interpreters sharing stories of families divided by war, a famous heiress of the 20th century and much more.

FCPS expect to award over 1,000 diplomas in 3 days

Three high schools will present diplomas to more than 1,000 seniors over three days.

In person commencement exercises start tomorrow Jun. 16 and last through Friday Jun.18 in Frederick County.

Millbrook High School’s ceremony begins at 6 tomorrow Jun. 16 with approximately 320 seniors at Pioneer Stadium.

Sherando High School has approximately 360 seniors expecting diplomas at Arrowhead Stadium Thurs. Jun. 17 starting at 7.

James Wood High School’s graduation starts at 7 Fri. Jun. 18 with approximately 340 receiving diplomas at Kelican Stadium.

Law enforcement will be on hand to help with traffic flow but you should arrive early to avoid congestion.
