BRWC precautions for West Nile Virus

Blue Ridge Wildlife Center has observed the traditional summer rise in West Nile Virus Cases in the region, especially in crows, ravens and raptors like owls.

The West Nile Virus is mosquito born and can have effects on humans and horses.

If you have horses, a vaccine is available but mosquito control is the best remedy for humans.

Remember to discard standing water and keep your screens in your windows.

Long sleeves and repellents will also help when you are out and about.
