Murder suspect mistakenly released, found in Georgia

Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office reported the recapture of murder suspect Stone Colburn Fri. Oct. 7.

The suspect from Loudoun County was found in Chatham County, Georgia by the Pooler Police Department.

Stone Colburn, 25, was mistakenly released from the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on Thursday after his original murder charges were improperly dismissed.

Friday morning, Colburn  was charged with Concealment of a Dead Body, but he had already left the Detention Center.

Colburn’s case has been complicated over competency and he was previously being held at Central State Hospital for his evaluation.

Colburn’s arrest was for stabbing to death his brother’s girlfriend, Natalie Crow, in front of their nine month old daughter.

The situation is still under investigation as to who is actually at fault in the release of Colburn.
