FCSO arrest a murder suspect

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) announced the arrest of  Michael Antonio Hill.

Hill is being charged with murder in the second degree in the murder of Rufus Holland.

The investigation began June 21 with a health and welfare check at Holland’s Kernstown home.

After arrival authorities found what appeared to be blood at the door and gained entry.

Further investigation determined  that Holland was the victim of a homicide.

It was determined by authorities that Hill and Holland knew one another.

Further investigation identified Hill as a person of interest.

Authorities determined that there was no ongoing threat to the general public.

Hill was located and arrested in Winchester without incident around 9 p.m. June 22.

At last report Hill was being held in the Northwestern Regional Detention Facility.

Winchester Police Department (WPD) confirm in an email the arrest of a murder suspect.

Officer have arrested and charged 32 Jessie Nathaniel Simms with second degree murder as a result of the investigation into the death of 37 year old Nathaniel Jones of Winchester.

At 1:30 the morning of May 6 authorities responded to reports of a fight in the Henry Avenue area.

As officers approached they were advised by dispatch that 911 calls indicated a male had been shot.

Jones was found and pronounced dead at the scene.

A search warrant was obtained for Simms’ residence on Henry Avenue where a handgun was found.

Simms and the victim were acquaintances and this is believed to be an isolated incident.

Simms is being held in the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center without bond.
