MSV Day at Museum of Shenandoah Valley
Today is MSV Day at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley in Winchester.
Admission is free to the galleries and exhibitions from 11 am to 4 pm.
This is one of your last chances to see National Geographic’s Photo Ark exhibit by the renowned photographer Joel Sartore.
The exhibit leaves MSV on Sunday.
Guests are also invited to explore The Trails which go through 50 acres of museum grounds including fields, woods, wetlands, and art installations .
The Trails open from 7 am to dusk and are free year round.
Virginia Gourd Show comes to MSV
The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley is hosting the Virginia Gourd Show and Sale today and tomorrow from 10 AM to 5 PM.
Virginia Lover’s Gourd Society has put on this free event for 15 years.
They have dedicated themselves to educating the benefits of gourd gardening and the use of them in arts and crafts.
At this event, you can meet experts from the VLGS to discuss different art techniques and watch live demonstrations.
Some of their pieces will be available for sale including birdhouses, instruments, bowls, and more.
This year’s award winning gourds will also be on display.

MSV opens doors for free event
The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley is opening its doors to the community today from 10 am to 5 pm with free admission to its galleries and gardens.
The galleries feature the exhibit “Norman Rockwell’s America.”
The exhibit showcases his original paintings and 323 vintage Saturday Evening Post covers.
Make sure to check out the Invitational Outdoor Sculpture show with installations from local artists.
From 10:00-2:00, there is a car show for antique and modified vehicles.
Food trucks will also be on the museum grounds.

Field Day at MSV
The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley is hosting a field day event today from 10 am to 2 pm.
The walking trails will be open with activities all along the way.
There will be educational activities as MSV educators will have a geology talk.
Shenandoah University researcher Ashley Landes will also be there to speak on the wetlands.
Frederick County Parks and Recreation will bring some of the fun including a timed 50 yard dash, disc golf demonstration, and ladder golf.
The field day is free but admission prices still apply to the gardens and galleries.
