Vietnam Veterans were honored in Virginia
Tuesday Mar. 29 was declared National Vietnam Veteran’s Day in 2017.
Strasburg’s Community Library announced in an email that a ceremony for those who served from 1955 to 1975 would be held on that day.
The Strasburg American Legion Post 77 co hosted the event and reported 35 were honored at the ceremony.
The Vietnam Veterans were met by the Strasburg American Legion Post 77 members and Strasburg dignitaries.
All who served and attended the ceremony received Vietnam War Lapel Pins and certificates.
On that same day hundreds gathered at Virginia’s War Memorial to be honored by Governor Youngkin as well.
More than 230,000 Virginians served in Vietnam.
