Rockland Rd. will close for 20 months for bridge construction

Parts of Rockland Road Route 658 in Warren County will close for approximately 20 months starting Monday April 22.

This allows the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) to begin construction on the new bridge over the Norfolk-Southern railway.

The project is expected to be complete and the bridge open by December 2025 according to VDOT.

During construction that begins on April 22 traffic will be diverted to Fairground Road to the north and Winchester Road to the west.

Rockland Park will remain open throughout the process.

Motorists need to be aware of crews putting up signs and flaggers before construction begins.
