Front Royal Warren County EDA has an interim director appointed

At the latest Front Royal Warren County Economic Development Authority (EDA) board meeting the authority had an interim Executive Director appointed by the Warren county Administrator.

Taryn Logan will serve until the county hires an executive director as current EDA Director Douglas Parsons prepares to leave for a new position in Fauquier County Oct. 1.

Also at the meeting it was announced that as of Oct. 1 all payments to the EDA will be handled by the Warren County Finance Department.

Checks still need to be made out to the EDA but delivered to the Finance Department at 220 N. Commerce Ave. Front Royal.

Checks that are mailed to the EDA from Oct. 1 on may be subject to penalties and late fees.

REC names a director of government affairs

Rappahannock Electric Cooperative (REC) named Lindsey Watson as the Cooperative’s Director of Government Affairs.

Watson will participate in the development of legislative policy proposals that are beneficial to REC and Virginia electric cooperatives.

Part of Watson duties will include developing and maintaining positive and cooperative working relationship with state and federal legislators.

Watson will also track legislation at the state and federal level that could directly or indirectly impact REC and it’s members.

Front Royal appoints a new Director of Human Resources

The town of Front Royal has selected Dale Losee as the new Director of Human Resources.

Losee has extensive experience at the state level.

Losee comes to the position from the New York State Insurance Fund.

While with New York State Insurance Fund Losee mentored and trained over 2,000 employees.

Losee begins his new position with Front Royal August 2.

Interim Director of Human Resources, Laura McIntosh was instrumental in the selection and hiring process.

Front Royal appoints a new director of planning and development

The town of  Front Royal appointed Lauren Kopishke as the new Director of Planning and Community Development.

Kopishke most recently served as a Planner in Community Development in Fauquier County.

Kopishke is a certified zoning administrator for the commonwealth of Virginia and moves into her new position August 2.

She will be replacing Tim Wilson who moves to Gates County North Carolina as their county administrator.
