Page County Authorities prevent an attempted abduction

The Luray Police Department and Page County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of a suspected abduction in the parking lot of Luray Caverns.

An adult female and a juvenile female were reportedly being taken with the adult taken against her will by use of force.

The juvenile was involved but not taken against her will.

Reportedly two males wearing ski masks forced the adult female into a vehicle and drove off.

The female victim was able to activate a 911 call to emergency operations which allowed officers to track down the vehicle and stop the attempted abduction.

One suspect and his victim were located on Mechanic Street with a second suspect apprehended a short time later at Bixler’s’ Ferry Road.

The two suspects have been taken into custody with the victims being secured and treated for minor injuries.

Further investigation indicates that the incident was a part of an ongoing domestic situation with more information expected at the conclusion of the investigation.

Currently Travis Matthew Hogan of Hopewell Virginia is being charged with felony abduction, unlawful wounding during the commission of a felony, child endangerment with additional charges pending.

Sean Gregory Jarratt also of Hopewell faces felony abduction, child endangerment, assault and battery charges with additional charges pending.
