An open house will be held at Rouss City Hall

The City of Winchester website announced an open house at Rouss City Hall Mar. 1.

The public is invited to add their input to the update of the 2019 – 2022 comprehensive plan which provides physical development for the city.

The meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m..

Public input can also be submitted online by email or letter to the Winchester clerk by noon Feb. 24, 2022.

Special Public Hearing and Open House


The Winchester City Council is holding a special public hearing and open house for the comprehensive

plan update. It will be held on Tuesday March 1. The open house will be from 5:30-6:30 pm in the lobby

And Zuckerman Room of Rouss City Hall, and the public hearing will begin at 6:30 pm in the council

Chambers. At the open house, community members can view exhibits and talk with staff to learn more

about the updates prior to addressing council at the public hearing. For those unable to attend the

public hearing and open house, feedback can be submitted in writing until noon on February 28. All

proposed changes to the comprehensive plan are available on the city’s website.

LFCC offers a free trade session open house

Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) will hold a Trades Information session open house on Saturday Aug. 28 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Middletown Campus.

The session will offer information on a verity of trades such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, heavy equipment operation and more.

City of Winchester holds an open house

The City of Winchester Local Government will hold an open house and public hearing on Aug. 31.

The public is invited to talk with staff about the proposed changes to the City’s Comprehensive Plan and provide input starting at 6:30 p.m..

This will be held at Rouss City Hall at 15 N. Cameron St. Winchester.

If you can’t attend in person you can submit input on line at or in writing to  the planning department on or before Aug. 27.

VT Research Center Open House

Virginia Tech’s Alson Smith Agricultural Research Center is having an open house today.

Visitors are welcome from 1 pm to 5 pm in at their facility in Winchester off Middle Road.

This is a great opportunity to meet the scientists and staff and learn about the important work they do there.

They will be featuring their research on a variety of topics including- stink bug management, novel disease management for wine grapes, reducing spring frost damage risk for fruit trees, and much more.

The center will also have tours of the farm, live demonstrations and hands-on activities.

SCSO holds an open house at new facility

International Automotive Components Group

The Shenandoah County Sheriff’s office  will hold an open house at its new facility at 810 North Main Street Woodstock.

The open house is tomorrow Jun. 26 from 9 a.m. to noon and Sunday Jun. 27 from 1-4 p.m..

Use the front parking lot and enter through door 1.
