Winchester owned museums announce opening day

All four Winchester City owned museums are slated to open May 10th.

Abrams Delight located at 1340 Pleasant Valley Rd. phone (540) 662-6519.

Hollingsworth Mill located at 1360 Pleasant Valley Rd. phone (540) 662-6550.

George Washington’s Office located at 32 W. Cork St. and Braddock St. phone (540) 662-4412.

Stonewall Jackson’s Headquarters located at 415 Braddock St. phone (540) 667-5505

All four Winchester Museums will be open Mon. through Sat. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m..

Sundays the Museums will open noon to 4 p.m..

SU Scoreboard, Nats-Mets On Opening Day, Caps Continue Road Trip Tonight

On the Shenandoah University sports scene, Bridgewater scored 2 late goals to beat Men’s Lacrosse 10-8. Meanwhile,Women’s Soccer blanked Shepherd 1-0. Today, Men’s Soccer hosts Randolph-Macon, and Women’s Lacrosse entertains number-3 Washington & Lee.

SU Football wraps up it’s Spring season Saturday with an ODAC “playoff” game against Bridgewater. Air time is 4:30 on The River 95-3.

It’s Opening Day in major League Baseball. The Washington Nationals host the New York Mets at Nationals Park. Capacity is limited to 5-thousand fans for tonight’s contest. Max Scherzer gets the start for Washington, while Jacob deGrom takes the hill for the Mets. Air time is 6:39 on Sports Radio 1450.

The Baltimore Orioles will be at Fenway Park to take on the Red Sox. First pitch is scheduled for 2:10.

And, the Washington Capitals continue their 5-game road trip tonight, when they skate against the New York Islanders. Air time is 6:45 on The River 95-3.

SU Results, Caps Keep Winning, Nats Announce Limited Fan Attendance

On the Shenandoah University scoreboard, Women’s Volleyball improved to 2-1 and 1-1 in the ODAC by blanking Virginia Wesleyan 3-0. Field Hockey won it’s second straight ODAC match with a 5-2 win over Randolph-Macon.

Today, Hornet Baseball entertains Washington & Lee, while Women’s Soccer hosts Virginia Wesleyan.

The Washington Capitals moved into a first-place tie in the NHL’s Eastern Division with a 3-1 win over the New York Islanders last night. In the win, Alex Ovechkin scored his 718th career goal, moving past Phil Esposito for sixth-place all time. The Caps also ended the Islanders’ 9-game winning streak as they improved to 19-6-4. Washington returns to the ice Friday against the Rangers. The puck drops at 7.

And, the Washington Nationals announced yesterday that they will allow 5,000 fans to attend the team’s Opening Day game Thursday, April 1st against the New York Mets. The club had previously said that no fans would be allowed to start the season. Nats baseball will once again be heard this year on Sports Radio 1450.
