Probation search leads to arrest

Page County Sheriff’s Office conducted a probation search on December 18th at the residence of Nathaniel Sours of Rileyville, VA.

During the search deputies found a duffle bag, hidden within the residence.

It contained at least 12 ounces of methamphetamines, baggies, scales and $13,000 in cash.

Sours immediately fled the residents on foot and was apprehended shortly after.

Sours was arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamines and obstruction of justice.

Investigation and trial ends in multiple counts of fraud

The Page County Sheriff Department and the Circuit Court of Page Country have concluded a three-year investigation and the five-day trial of Wayne and Sabrina Knott.

Under the business name of Knott Roofing, they took advance down payments for new roofs.

After several months of receiving complaints that roofs had not been completed and the Knotts would not communicate with them, the Sheriff’s Department opened an investigation.

They were convicted of nearly 100 felony counts of construction fraud, obtaining money by false pretenses, conspiracy to obtain money by false pretenses, and conspiracy to commit construction fraud.

Sentencing will begin February 14, 2024.

PCSD employees participate in No Shave November

Page County Sheriff Chad Cubbage has given permission to his deputies to grow beards and facial hair as of Oct. 1.

Page County Sheriff Department employees are participating in a No Shave November event.

It is all for a good cause and goes toward Christmas gifts for the area.

Each participant growing facial hair pays $45 which will be used in a fundraiser for the gifts.

The gifts will be distributed across Page County during the Christmas holiday season.

Sheriff Cubbage ask citizen that if they see a Deputy with facial hair to remember they are supporting the cause of No Shave November for the gifts and the Sheriff thanks you for the support.
