Winchester celebrates Patsy Cline’s 90th birthday

Patsy Cline would have turned 90 years old this weekend and Winchester is celebrating her life on Saturday.

The 12th annual block party and concert at Patsy Cline Theater will benefit the Patsy Cline Historic House on S Kent Street where she lived from 1948-1953.

The block party will take place outside her former home from 10 am to 4 pm and Kent Street will be closed from Monmouth St to Germain St.

Festivities will include musical performances, home tours and a pause for birthday cake to honor Patsy Cline with her daughter, Julie Fudge.

The evening will culminate in a concert with Grand Ole Opry member Mandy Barnett.

She also starred in the musical “Always… Patsy Cline” for 15 seasons in Nashville.

Ronnie Milsap headlines Patsy Cline Classic

Country Music Hall of Famer and Grammy Award winning artist Ronnie Milsap is bringing his talents to Winchester tonight.

Milsap is the headliner for the 11th Annual Patsy Cline Classic at Handley High School’s Patsy Cline Theater.

The event is being held to benefit the Winchester Education Foundation and Winchester Public Schools.

The show starts at 8 pm and tickets are still available through Eventbrite.

JHHS premieres Beauty and the Beast

John Handley High School premiered their rendition of Beauty and the Beast last night at Patsy Cline theater in Winchester.

There will also be showings today and tomorrow at 11 am and 4 pm.

Tickets are available for purchase at $10 and it’s expected to sell out, so show up early.

The high school student actors have had to be creative in preparing their performance which will also feature prerecorded video performances from Winchester’s elementary and middle school students.

Tickets are now on sale for Winchester Education Foundation’s annual Patsy Cline Classic.

For the eleventh annual event country music hall of famer Ronnie Milsap will be at the Patsy Cline Theater at Handley High School April 17.
