United Way kicks off air mattress drive

online charity auction

The United Way of the Northern Shenandoah Valley’s Women United is kicking off their 2nd Annual Air Mattress Drive.

Last year was a huge success thanks to the generosity of the community, 725 items including 200 air mattresses were donated for those in need.

Since the start of the school year, officials estimate that over 500 students in the Shenandoah Valley have been declared homeless and this number has increased in most jurisdictions since last year.

United Way NSV is collecting twin and queen sized new air mattresses, sheet sets, comforters and pillows for families facing insecurities through March 6, 2023.

Donations can be made on Amazon with a link available here or in person at the United Way NSV office at 329 N Cameron Street, The Winchester Group on 24 W Picadilly Street, the Warren County Chamber of Commerce, and any First Bank location.

Donations will be distributed through the Valley Assistance Network to Bright Futures Frederick/Winchester, Family Promise of Shenandoah County, Page One of Page County, and the Warren County Department of Social Services.
