Navy Lt. dies in plane crash near Chincoteague

Navy Lieutenant Hyrum Hanlon operating out of the Naval Air Station in Norfolk died in the crash of an E-2D Advanced Hawkeye near Chincoteague.

Two other crew members were rescued from the crash and have non-lifethreatening injuries.

Hanlon was originally commissioned as a naval officer in 2017 and joined the squadron in Norfolk in 2021.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

State Police investigate a small plane crash

A small plane crash near Lansing West Virginia killed all three people on board.

Nick Fletcher, Michael Taphouse and Wesley Farley, all three in their 30 were from the Chesapeake Virginia area.

The three took off from the Fayetteville Airport Sunday morning.

The wreckage of the plane was later that day found in the New River Gorge Bridge area.

The crash remains under investigation.

Small plane crashes at SHD

Virginia State Police (VSP) report a small plane crashed outside of Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport (SHD).

The two people on board were transported to Rockingham Memorial Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The plane reportedly out of Front Royal did a touch and go landing before crashing into the woodline just outside the airport in Weyers Cave.

VSP notified the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) as the investigation continues.
