Handley Regional Library Systems offers wildlife program

The Handley Regional Library System will present a wildlife program at the Robinson Auditorium on July 23 at 2 p.m..

Families can learn about natural history and how humans can help and not hurt native wildlife.

Animals like box turtles, striped skunks, opossum along with animal artifacts will be explored.

There is also a backyard wildness exhibit on the second floor of the library for families to explore.

These events will focus on the impact of humans on wildlife and the ecosystem.

These programs are a part of youth summer reading program Tails and Tales.

SVBF holds New Market commemoration

The Shenandoah Valley Battlefields Foundation has a series of programs to commemorate the 157 anniversary of the battle of New Market.

Various programs and demonstrations are planned beginning as early as 9 a.m. tomorrow May 15.

All programs are free but pre-registration is required to help organizers with logistics and planning.
