Virginia’s election process praised

Virginia’s election process was rewarded with two Telly awards for the 2021 cycle.

The awards were given based on Virginia’s increase in voter turnout and the performance of the Virginia Department of Elections employees.

Increased voter turnout is attributed to the Virginia Voting Rights Act.

The act made some notable changes like making Election Day a state holiday, extended in person voting, and more.

The Department of Elections was recognized for their increased training efforts through the program PROTECT 2020.

They received Telly awards for Non-broadcast Training and Non-broadcast Internal Communications.
