Clarke county teacher arrested

According to a press release issued by the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office, a teacher at DG Cooley Elementary School was arrested for public intoxication.

The Clarke County Public School Superintendent’s Office promptly notified the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office on January 31st.

They expressed concerns about a possible case of intoxication involving Derek L. Boyce, a 39-year-old resident of Stephens City.

Mr. Boyce was taken to the Northwest Regional Adult Detention Center until he was deemed sober for release.

It is important to emphasize that Mr. Boyce is innocent until proven guilty.
