National Mutt Day at SPCA
Tomorrow is National Mutt Day and the SPCA of Winchester, Frederick and Clarke Counties is celebrating with an adoption special.
From noon to 5 pm on Sunday, adoptions to approved adopters will be just $31 at their location on Featherbed Lane in Winchester.
Mutts or mixed breed dogs can be wonderful and unique additions to the family.
They also tend to live longer than purebred dogs as they aren’t subject to inbreeding or the genetic disorders that come with a small gene pool.
Adopting a mutt also helps fight the cruelty and price gouging that comes with puppy mills.
