Strasburg residents and businesses came to the aid of area residents and first responders affected by the Valley Milk Plant explosion.

Some businesses in and around the King St. explosion had to close on Fri. but have since been able to open.

A couple of businesses that may take as long as a month to reopen are Blue Ridge Hospice and On Second Thought Consign and Theft.

Structural assessment and correction have to be made to those businesses before they are able to reopen.

Some Strasburg businesses supplied food to both displaced residents as well as to first responders.

One business remained closed Fri. but did provide comfort stations for those who responded to the incident.

The cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
