REC awards $20,000 in scholarships to local students
Rappahannock Electric Cooperative (REC) announced the awarding of $20,000 in scholarships to local students.
The scholarships are awarded to students looking to advance their education and career goals.
Some of the scholarship funds went to 4 local students this year.
Frederick County Virginia Commonwealth University student Sanae Stokes received a $2,500 scholarship.
Sherando High School students Jona Benson and Hunter Legge received a $1,000 scholarship each.
Virginia Tech student Alexis Dennis of Frederick County also received a $1,000 scholarship as did Clarke County homeschool student Julia McKenzie.
Scholarships are awarded each year with applications open for 2024 here and must be submitted by February 9.
