Nov. 8 unofficial election results for Virginia

Judging from the numbers and results voter turn out was steady if not heavy for the November 8 midterm elections.

According to the Virginia Department of Elections preliminary results, the Virginia U.S. House District 6th race went to Republican Ben Cline taking more than 64 percent of the vote against Democrat Jennifer Lewis.

Democrat Jennifer Wexton retains her position in the 10 District of Winchester, Leesburg and Fairfax.

Results in the contested races include Clarke County’s Andrew McDonald taking the most votes for the School Board seat.

Steven D. Wood took more than 26 percent of the vote for Edinburg’s Town Council seat.

Brad Stover took the most votes for the Town Council seat in Strasburg.

Wayne Sealock was the top vote recipient in the special election in Front Royal for Town Council.

Melissa Harris took the most votes in the Winchester School Board.

Winchester’s first ward top vote contender was Richard Bell, Emily Deangelis takes the second ward and Kathy Tagnesi taking the top votes in the fourth ward.

Bryan Pearce Gonzales received the most votes in the fourth ward school board seat.

Alex White led the race in the Luray Town Council race.

Steven Heishman had better than 37 percent of the votes for Woodstock’s Town Council.

W. Todd Holtzman takes the most votes in the Mount Jackson Council seat.

Peggy Hackness received the most votes for Town Council in New Market.

In Shenandoah’s Town Council race William Kite took the most votes.

Results are unofficial as mail in ballots can still be counted with a November 14 deadline.
