Repo gone wrong leaves Hagerstown man dead

A Maryland repossession agent was shot and killed while on the job in West Virginia.

Augusta County residence Michael McCaughey saw his vehicle was being repossessed and became irate retrieved a firearm and shot Hagerstown Maryland repossession officer Cody Carlin.

After the shooting McCaughey fled but was immediately apprehended by authorities along Route 50.

The 39-year-old McCaughey is being held on a on a $500,000 cash only bond.

By the time Hampshire County Emergency Medical Service Personnel arrived the 27-year-old Carlin had succumbed to his injuries.
