The Washington Nationals’ bats came alive last night in a 12-6 win over Toronto. Riley Adams had his first career 3-hit performance, including his second career home run in the 4th inning. Erick Fedde pitched 5 innings of 3-run ball to get the win for the Nats, who ended a 7-game losing streak. The Nationals take on the Jays this afternoon in the series finale. Air time is 3:35 on Sports Radio 1450.
The Baltimore Orioles were shut out by the Tampa Bay Rays last night, 10-0. The O’s managed just 4 hits against 3 Rays’ pitchers–2 of those by Jorge Mateo, who continued his hot hitting for Baltimore. The two teams play again tonight at 7:10.
The Washington Football Team released several players yesterday in order to get to the required 4pm Tuesday deadline of 85 players. One of those cuts was cornerback Greg Stroman. Stroman was a 7th round pick in 2018 out of Virginia Tech, who played in 15 games as a rookie. He had only played in 5 games the past 2 seasons. Washington hosts Cincinnati Friday at 8 in it’s second preseason contest.
