Page County Triad announces spring conference

Page County Triad, a cooperative effort of law enforcement agencies, senior citizens and senior organizations, will hold its spring conference May 7 at the Rileyville Baptist Church on U.S. 340.

The session will include presentations and opportunities for seniors to share concerns about crime and safety.

Check-in will run from 8 to 9 a.m., with the conference running from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The event is open to the public..

VSP investigates fatal crash in Page County

Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal crash in Page County that occurred Wednesday afternoon.

A 2005 Ford F-150 attempted to turn on to US Highway 340 when it collided with a 2014 Mack Truck.

James Mann, 75, of Rileyville, was the driver of the Ford and died from his injuries after being transported to Page Memorial Hospital.

The driver of the Mack truck, an unidentified 54 year old male from Shenandoah County, was not injured.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Page County Authorities seek information on suspicious activity

A Page County Sheriff’s Office social media post has video footage of suspicious activity in the Rileyville area.

The security footage shows a man running from a dog in the Rileyville Rd. Rogers Rd. area in a fairly secluded section.

Before the chase it’s believed the man may have been rifling through a vehicle.
