Winchester resident is convicted of drug distribution

In a news release from the United States Department of Justice it was announced that Robert Lockhart has been convicted.

The Winchester resident was convicted by a federal jury for conspiring with others to distribute 100 grams of heroin or more.

Some of the drugs have been linked to causing serious bodily injury.

The Northwestern Virginia Drug and Gang Task Force (NVDGTF) conducted the investigation that led to the arrest of several individuals including the 33 year old Lockhart.

Evidence that was presented indicated that Lockhart was connected to a drug pipeline between Maryland and Front Royal.

The Front Royal team of the NVDGTF was able to identify more than 30 overdoses that could be connected to the Front Royal Maryland pipeline.
