Warren Coalition accepts nominations for Larry M. Funk Award
The Warren Coalition is now accepting nominations for the Larry M. Funk Memorial Award for Outstanding Service to Children.
The award was established last year to recognize an individual who has shown dedication and service to the children of Warren County.
The award is open to anyone who serves children in any way, but if working with children is their profession, the nominator must express how they go above and beyond.
Nominators are asked to cite specific examples and list five outstanding qualities of the nominee.
Nominations can be made through a form found here.
All nominations must be entered by May 26, 2023 to be considered.
The selected recipient will receive $500 cash and a plaque at the Warren Coalition’s Annual Membership Luncheon in late July.
Roger Smelser was last year’s recipient thanks to his dedication to Front Royal Little League.
Larry M. Funk was a member of the Warren Coalition for over 20 years and served the community as the Warren County Sheriff’s Office DARE instructor for 27 years among many other ways.
