FCSO report an arrest in the murder of a Clarke County man

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO)  report an arrest has been made in the June 25 fatal shooting of a Clarke County man.

The incident occurred in the Fairfax Pike area near Sandy’s mobile home community.

The shooting resulted in the death of 52-year-old Romero Cook of Clarke County.

Terrance Lee Morris of Woodbridge Virginia has been arrested and charged with murder in the second degree.

The 42-year-old Morris was considered armed and dangerous as a result of the shooting near Double Tollgate and was located and apprehended by Spotsylvania County Authorities June 30.

Frederick County Investigators deduced that the shooting was the end result of a dispute over mechanical services rendered by the deceased.

The disagreement resulted in a short vehicle pursuit beginning in Clarke County.

The chase entered Frederick County where a face-to-face confrontation took place and ended in shots fired.

Frederick County Authorities continues to Investigate the incident.

Anyone who may have been traveling Route 340 Fairfax Pike on June 25 between 7 and 7:30 p.m. who may have seen something suspicious or dangerous is encouraged to contact the FCSO.
