Camping for Hunger is in progress through November 18

The River 953 is broadcasting live from the Camping for Hunger Bus in the Royal Plaza Shopping through November 17th.

We are manning the bus 24 hours a day collecting nonperishable foods and monetary donations for Front Royal Warren County Congregational Community Action Project (C-CAP).

Over the last 14 years we have helped raise over 190,000 pounds of food and over $135,000 in money and gift cards.

The effort is an attempt to help C-CAP have enough supplies for those in need through at least the spring of the year.

This year C-CAP reports a more than 100 percent increase in need with some supplemental Food Stamp and COVID relief funds ending.

People are having to make the hard decision of paying for necessities or eating.

This is the reason that Royal Broadcasting staff members will be camping on the bus in the Royal Plaza Shopping all week.

We are collecting those donations 24 hours a day ready to take donations of nonperishable food, hygiene products, and cleaning products.

There are also donation locations throughout the community in support of the effort found here.

Royal Broadcasting and C-CAP are eternally grateful for the community support through the years and look forward to the support this year.
