GIANT announces $150,000 donation to BRAFB
Martins and The GIANT Company announced they will volunteer and donate $150,000 to the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank’s Partner Impact & Innovation Grants program.
The program supports agency partners with equipment and supplies to ensure safe food distribution.
This includes purchasing energy efficient, large capacity coolers and freezers, shelving carts, generators, and supporting mobile food distribution.
This donation is part of GIANT Company’s 100th anniversary celebration which honors team members, customers, and the communities they serve.
GIANT has donated more than $500,000 and 2.3 million pounds of food to support Blue Ridge Area Food Bank’s food security initiatives since 2021.
Michael McKee, CEO of the Food Bank said, “Together, we set a place at the table for everyone, every day, so more guests throughout our service area have access to the food they need. This investment will help the entire community as rising costs create more demand for hunger relief services.”
You can help fight food insecurity during The River 95.3’s 15th Camping For Hunger which begins November 13th.
