News Maker Erin Rooney on Samuel Library’s SamiCon

The annual SamiCon event is coming to Samuel’s Public Library September 9.

We spoke to Samuel’s Public Library’s Adult Reference Supervisor Erin Rooney about the event in our latest news maker.

Erin tells us that the event is a local chance to cosplay or costume play and go as your favorite character.

She tells us the history and idea behind the event.

The fact that it is happening September 9 gives you a good amount of time to get that costume together.

News Maker Erin Rooney on Samuel’s Library Memory Lab

Samuel’s Public Library of Front Royal announced through an email that they can offer Memory Lab.

Memory Lab can preserve old faded photos and documents and even VHS tape.

We spoke with Adult Reference Supervisor Erin Rooney about the innovative lab in our latest news maker.

Erin tells us how the lab is able to take old documents and old photos and preserve them for future generations.

She also tells us of the variety of ways the materials can be stored and saved.
