Winchester Police investigate a second shots fired incident in a week

The Winchester Police Department (WPD) report the investigation of the second case of shots fired in a week.

In the early morning hours of  June 20 officers responded to the area of Peyton and Braddock Streets.

Several reports were taken that shots had been fired along with evidence taken.

Investigators were able to gather evidence and talk to witnesses who were awakened by the shots.

Several shells were recovered imbedded in various buildings in the area, but no injuries were reported.

This is the second incident of shots fired in the course of a week.

Previously shots were reported on June 13 where a vehicle stopped in the middle of Berryville Avenue with a male suspect getting out and shooting at a person riding a scooter.

The person on the scooter began to fire back at the male standing outside the vehicle.

Bullets struck both vehicles and buildings but again no injuries were reported.

Several shells were recovered in that incident around the 675 area of Berryville Avenue.
