Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine announced in an email that over $50 million in federal funds are to be awarded to Dulles and Richmond International airports.

The funds are to help modernization both airport terminals.

The funds were awarded through the Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Terminals Program.

At Dulles International Airport some of the funds will be used to create a 14 gate concourse.

that will replace the current temporary concourse at Dulles International.

A portion of the funds will go to Richmond International Airport to help upgrade the Federal Inspection Station.

Those upgrades will help to meet customs and border protection service standards for international travel processing at Richmond International.
