Local Little Leaguers seeing success at state tournament

Many local little leaguers are seeing success in the state tournaments taking place over the weekend.

Luray’s 9-11 softball team proudly brought home the state runner up title after falling in the championship game this morning.

Front Royal 8-10 boys rallied after falling in their first game 19-0 to win their next two games and advance as Pool 1 Runner Ups. 

They defeated Tuckahoe National at noon on Monday 8-4 and will play South County at 6 pm also on Monday with a chance to play in the State Championship Game on the line.

Front Royal Little League 8-10 year old all stars play Tuesday July 11 at 10 a.m. against Vienna for the state title.

Warren County’s Senior League softball team advanced out of pool play with a 19-8 win yesterday and will play at noon vs Matthew County.

Clarke/Strasburg’s 10-12 softball team also advanced out of pool play and won their first elimination game 4-1 over Poquoson. 

Clarke/Strasburg will take on Hugenot at 5 pm today in Culpeper.
